As I hurried out the door this morning in the freezing cold, I almost get to my car when I hear this little voice, standing in the front doorway.
"Daddy, wait, I didn't get love!" He then gives me that ear-to-ear smile and sounds off a tune on his harmonica. Who can resist such a call! Man, I love my kiddos. I wonder how many times we rush off in our mornings and ignore God's voice. "Wait, I didn't get any love". FredAnd I'm with my son Will at Urgent Care. He had 102.5 fever and a nasty cough. He's battled it for a week, but seemed to escalate last night. Its no fun being sick at Christmas! Except then the dr's give u candy for braving the finger prick!
Yes, I live on a luxury, beautiful island called St. Simons Island. But here's my roots - pecan trees, deer stands, tractors, bass, catfish, and deer. And YES, I can indeed "skin a buck and run a trot line", as the song says.
I'm enjoying a couple of days back in Telfair County, GA - home of the world record largemouth bass, the state record Boone and Crocket deer, and my home ... Preparing our hunting club for this year's deer season. This trip I'm honored to have my second-born son Will with me.
